There are just seven more days until the start of the 2008 PGA Tour season. In honor of the new year, Shlink Lincoln Sports is counting down the Top 12 SLS Ranked golfers with the 12 Days of Rotoff. Who will be #1? (Who could it be?)

Steve Stricker
At the end of the 2005 season, Steve Stricker was ranked 337th in the world and was about to give up on golf. Stricker now sits as the 4th ranked golfer in the world and his rise may not be over, thanks to a revamped swing and a new outlook on golf.
Stricker’s Rotoff Scoring Average (-8.62) ranks 3rd amongst all SLS Ranked golfers, meaning lots of low scores, especially in the early rounds in Rotoff leagues. 9 Top 10’s is not too shabby either. Stricker is a solid pick but do not overpay for him. It will be pretty hard for him to play better then he did in 2007. Still, he’ll contend in a few majors this year and may even win a tournament or two. Bid in the neighborhood of 25-30 units for Stricker.

Zach Johnson
Zach Johnson became a household name last April by playing a brilliant final round to win the Masters. Add to that his win at the AT&T Classic and a T2 finish at the Tour Championship and 2007 was a career year for Zach. But Johnson’s career is really just beginning.
Johnson is quickly establishing himself as one of the best golfers on Tour. While his Rotoff Scoring Average is the lowest of all the golfers in the SLS Top 10, Johnson is still a valuable pick for his Bonus Point and Majors potential alone. He only missed 1 Cut in 07 (with 2 WD’s) making him a sure bet to be available for your Sunday lineup in Rotoff leagues. This will probably be the last year you can grab Johnson for less then 30 units, so do it.

Brandt Snedeker
Unless you follow the Nationwide Tour you had no idea who Brandt Snedeker was when the 2007 PGA Season started. But by season’s end not only had Snedeker all but locked up the Rookie of the Year award, he had a PGA Tour win and 6 Top 10’s.
Much like Mahan, Brandt’s strength is in the amount of tournaments he played. He had 27 Events Played last year with only 6 Cuts. Infact Snedeker’s 2007 stats are almost identical to Mahan, with 1 more Bonus Point and 2 less cuts. This was enough to put Snedeker in the Top 10 of the SLS Rankings. It’s safe to say that Snedeker will be on everyone’s radar this season. Spend up to 30 units for Snedeker, as his upside is far greater then most of the veterans in the SLS Top 10. With that said you can probably get him for cheaper if he’s nominated after everyone has bid their top golfers.
