2007 Week 2: Sony Open Scoring

shlinklincoln January 10th, 2007

Round 4

What a finish! Gonzalez slipped by Romig on the first playoff hole to take the win at the Sony Open. Both Gonzalez and Romig finished at -27, but it was Donald’s birdie on 18 (to Howell’s par) that gave Gonzalez the win and $4.00 in earnings. For the second straight week Romig finishes runner up, earing another $1.00. (Tiebreak rules for Win/RU were posted on last week’s scoring blog, I’ve posted them again below).

It was a tough scoring round for everyone, as Golf Cheese Hoes and Slaughter tied for the best round of the day at -2.

Note: The tiebreaker for Wins/RUs is playoff holes from the scorecard of your active golfer in round 4. Starting from hole 18 and going backwards, the best single hole score to break the tie wins the tiebreaker and gets the Win/RU. For example if two teams tie for first place in the tournament, it would then go to their active golfers round 4 scorecard hole 18. If both golfers have the same score it goes to hole 17, this continues until the better single hole score wins.

If there is a playoff for the Win then the loser of the playoff gets the RU. If there is a tie for the RU then the loser of the playoff finishes 3rd and does not get RU $. If two golfers should have the exact same round 4 scorecard then the tiebreaker goes to Round 3, Round 2, etc. The tiebreaker applies to all Win/RU tie scenarios (i.e 3 way tie, 4 way tie, etc.) but do not apply for any other positioning on the leaderboard. Roto points will remain tied.

(3:50) Donald bogey on 2, Gonzalez back into 2nd place. Matteson birdie on 12, moves into 6th place.

(3:30) Donald birdie on 1, Gonzalez and Romig tied for 1st.

(3:15) Senden birdie on 3, Kinzler all by himself in 3rd place, 2 strokes out of 1st. Matteson birdie on 9, Sand Crabs moves into a tie for 6th.

(3:00) Everyone now on the course except Donald and Howell.

(2:55) Choi bogey on 1, Slaughter drops into a tie for 7th.

(2:28) Immelman bogey on 2, dropping 18 Hoes into a tie for 6th.

Round 2

Romig ties the record for a single round w/ -14 (with the help of Howell III) to get back into contention, currently just one stroke out of first place. Golf Cheese Hoes also had a good round of -11 and is also just one shot back of leader Gonzalez.
