12 Days of Rotoff: Phil Mickelson
shlinklincoln January 1st, 2008
There are just three more days until the start of the 2008 PGA Tour season. In honor of the new year, Shlink Lincoln Sports is counting down the Top 12 SLS Ranked golfers with the 12 Days of Rotoff. Who will be #1? (Who could it be?)
#3
Phil Mickelson
Phil had a roller coaster year in 2007, from winning the Players to missing the cut at the U.S. Open. At one point during the middle stretch of last season (after turning to Butch Harmon as his new swing coach) it looked like Phil was the best golfer in the world and then came the wrist injury while practicing at Oakmont. This derailed his momentum a bit, but he still came back and won at the Deutsche Bank in what was one of the best events of the 2007 season.
Mickelson ranked 2nd in both Rotoff Scoring Average and Bonus Points and only missed 5 Cuts (most due to the wrist injury). Phil’s only drawback is in the amount of tourments he plays, he had only 19 Events Played in 2007. Even so he is sure to get you at least a few wins every year, maybe even a major win. You will be paying top units for Mickelson, but he is worth it. Don’t be suprised if he gets bid over 40, and don’t hesitate to pay over 40. Phil is a monster, especially in Rotoff leagues.
Event Played: 19
Rotoff Scoring Average: -9.37
Wins: 3
Total Bonus Points: 13
Top 10: 6
Cut/WD/DQ: 5
Units (of 100): 32.2
Tomorrow I will be breaking down the #2 SLS Ranked golfer to get you ready for your fantasy golf draft.
